As more and more regulations, rules and safety measures are put in place by companies and governments, the challenge to the logistics industry grows every day. Perhaps even more than in many other industries, the freight sector is hardly pressed by compliance systems, be it from governments or cargo companies.
At Aerodoc, our mission is clear: making sure your cargo gets to its destination on time, safely, and with every ESG detail met. So that you -or your client- can receive the expected goods as fast as possible, and without complications.
How we do that? By putting in place a rigorous and thorough process of cargo inspection that differentiates our service from many others. We call this process “Physical Inspection”, and it is a proprietary and pioneer System focused in meeting the intricated web of measures, laws, controls and regulations at reception ports, especially in the “hard to reach” countries.
What does this mean for you? That when the goods which need to be shipped overseas reach us, our Physical Inspection Team begins an exhaustive search of them -many times working hand in hand with our clients, partners, and government officials- in order to ensure that every shipment we make has met any and all regulations required for a quick and easy entry in its port of arrival.
This is the key: to reduce the friction and possibilities of the cargo being stopped because of not meeting regulations and specifications when it reaches its destination.
To be more precise, our inspection process includes a thorough physical inspection which includes examining the goods and making sure they are shipped according to the requirements of the customs authorities of the destination country.
Since requirements vary from country to country and from commodity to commodity, our expertise is precisely to secure a compliant import declaration and a secured release process.
To be precise, the step-by-step process includes:
- Reception of the cargo and goods on our Miami Hub.
- Goods and materials search process, including barcode scanning and goods count.
- Examination process, in which the shipment is carefully handled and its contents are checked -both in quality and quantity- against the stated documentation.
- Picture of the goods and records making sure the stated goods and the, including those of labels and power cords outlet original packaging in case they are requested for a non-intrusive Customs Inspection.
- Examination Report: We report to our customer any findings and suggest corrections on documents.
- Re-Packing for International shipping.
Also, for some countries, such as Argentina where used equipment is prohibited from importing, we ensure that the cited equipment is indeed new and there are no test marks or other issues, that may complicate the import process in the future.
The benefits are clear: more efficiency, better costs, and financial benefits for our clients and their clients. But there’s more to it. It is, ultimately, an exercise in trust.
At first glance, this exhaustive inspection may seem like an encumbering problem, another layer of bureaucracy or red tape put on an already complicated challenge.
But very soon, our clients see the value of it. Our shipments reach their destinations faster, pass any and security inspections made at sea, on arrival, or when stored at the port, and quickly gain the confidence of cargo companies and local authorities. As a result, surprises are avoided at destination and the benefit of this is obvious.
To many of our ever-growing list of clients, having their cargo inspected by our expert team is not only a matter of efficiency and doing good business. It is a credibility and brand equity issue. It signals both to companies and law and regulations enforcers: “We care, and we take these things very seriously”.
And, we do.
